Writing for Self Discovery
Use creative writing prompts to learn more about yourself, improve your relationships, and find greater peace and fulfilment
Writing for Self Discovery
Writing for Self-Discovery is a weekly group using creative writing exercises to learn more about ourselves and our experiences and relationships in a supportive setting.
There is no pressure to be ‘good’ at writing; it is suitable for any ability.
We use structured writing exercises and prompts to express feelings and share experiences. This might include descriptions, writing from prompts, using objects, short stories, poems, and other methods.
It is intended to be enjoyable, thought-provoking, insightful, gently challenging and connecting.
A Writing for Self-Discovery group is not at all intimidating, or academic, and it requires no previous skills or experience. All you need is an interest, and willingness to explore your experiences, and to try something different. Tasks are always optional, and the joy of it is in coming together, sharing experiences, getting to know other people and ourselves better, and having fun.
Who is it for?
No previous skills or experience are required. Any adults (over 18) are welcome.
You may have an interest in creative writing or language, or you may simply be interested to try this way of exploring, processing or recording aspects of your life: your relationships and experiences. If you are curious but not sure, you are very welcome to call me to discuss it.
How does it work?
I can work with you individually, either in person or via online video call.
I am planning a group in person in South Cerney (near Cirencester) in late 2025, and one online from Jan 2026. Please contact me if you are interested, as groups will be offered at different locations and dates in the future.
