About Me
Hello, I’m Caroline
I’m a counsellor, writer, group facilitator, and trainer based in North Wiltshire.
Alongside my private practice, I deliver courses, workshops, and training for charities and organisations, including Cotswold Counselling, The Churn Project (Cirencester), Willows Counselling Service (Swindon), Hazel Hill Trust (near Salisbury), and BCPC (Bath).
My counselling work
I work with adults of all ages on a range of issues, including anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship and family difficulties, life transitions, parenting, trauma, illness, loss, and bereavement.
I offer a warm, trusting, and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly and explore what’s going on for you at your own pace.
My focus is to support you in developing greater self-understanding and self-acceptance, creating a foundation for meaningful change and wellbeing.
I have particular experience working with illness, loss, and grief, including two years as a counsellor at We Hear You (WHY), supporting people affected by cancer and bereavement.
I also offer couples counselling, supporting communication and understanding within relationships.
My counselling approach
My training is integrative, which means I draw on different approaches depending on your needs.
This includes:
Person-centred counselling – based on the belief that you are the expert on your own life, and that a trusting, empathic, non-judgemental relationship can support change and growth.
Psychodynamic theory – which explores how early life experiences may continue to influence current patterns, feelings, and relationships.
Relational practice – which looks at how you relate to others, and how the therapeutic relationship itself can offer insight into those patterns.
Each approach offers different ways of understanding your experiences, patterns, and relationships.
At the heart of my work is the belief that a safe, empathic, and non-judgemental relationship can support meaningful change.
The role of writing
Writing is an important part of both my personal and professional practice.
It has long been a way for me to reflect, process experiences, and make sense of the world—supporting me through both challenging times and creative exploration. Over time, I have developed this into my professional work, completing a Certificate in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes and working towards an MSc in the field.
I offer therapeutic creative writing courses and workshops, alongside counselling skills training with organisations including Willows Counselling Service and BCPC.
Where it feels helpful, writing can also be gently integrated into counselling—offering another way to reflect, process experiences, and express what may be difficult to say aloud. This is always optional.
I’m interested in the full range of what writing can offer, from personal reflection to creative expression, and in supporting others to explore it in a way that feels right for them.
Working with me feels…
