Creating your Private Practice

A programme of creative writing exercises to help you envision and achieve your private therapy practice

Creating your Private Practice

Are you:

  • Starting out or expanding in private practice as a counsellor or psychotherapist?

  • Recently qualified or soon to qualify?

  • Struggling to attract enough clients, or make a sufficient living from counselling?

  • Feeling isolated as a sole practitioner?

  • Interested in creative approaches to working all this out?

If so, this course could be a good fit for you.

Creating Your Private Practice is a programme of creative writing exercises designed to help you envision and define your goals for your counselling practice; to clarify your strengths, skills and interests; to recognise and address your blocks; to relate all this to practical matters and plan a way forward.

People sitting in rows, some reading notebooks and others reading books, attending a lecture or seminar.

When and Where

The course is planned to run in Bath at BCPC in October/November 2025, and in Cirencester from January 2026. Further dates and locations will be offered, including online; please get in touch to register your interest if you would like to hear more.

You will share six 3-hour evening meetings with a group of 6-15 people, potentially creating a peer group that may serve you long after this course.
